Raid or Assault
You pick one of two modes when you attack. Both take loot when they win. The mode only changes who loses what.
A raid takes what it can carry. An assault fights to break the defence. Neither can capture or destroy a planet: attacks take dust and destroy troops, and nothing else.
How much each side loses
Losses depend on how much stronger the winner was. Power here means total attack against total defence.
An even assault wipes out both sides. Losses round up for each troop type, against the side taking them.
Sending an attack
- On the Galaxy chart, tap a rival world.
- Choose Raid or Assault, and the troops to send. At least one.
- Confirm. An attack costs no dust.
- You can’t attack your own planet, and you can’t attack at all while your planet is in debt.
- Anyone can see that a fleet is on its way, where from, where to and when it lands. Nobody can see what’s aboard until it lands. As the app puts it: “Fleets are public; what’s aboard is not.”
- Troops that are away still eat upkeep, and they can’t defend your planet while they’re gone.
Travel time
Fleets fly at about 3.2 seconds per map unit. Vex fleets fly 25% faster: about 2.56 seconds per unit. The attacker’s species sets the speed. The Galaxy chart shows each world’s distance from you.
The trip home takes as long as the trip out.
The attack timeline
1
You order the attack
The fleet leaves about 90 seconds later.
2
The fleet flies
About 3.2 seconds per map unit, or 2.56 for Vex. The defender sees it coming in the War Room, with its origin and landing time but not what’s aboard.
3
It lands and is revealed
RHEA reveals your army when it lands. Only now can anyone see what it holds.
4
The defence answers
The defender’s RHEA answers once every attacking army is revealed. The defender has up to about 6 minutes.
5
The battle is fought
Once the armies are revealed and the defence is in, or its time has run out, the battle is fought and both sides get a report.
6
The survivors fly home
The trip home takes as long as the trip out. Loot joins your balance when they land.
How a battle is decided
- Attack power is the attack of every troop that landed. Troops from Ferox worlds count 20% more. Attacks that land together add up.
- Defence power is the defence of every troop at home, plus any coalition-mates’ troops stationed there, plus 500 for each level of the Bastion building. Troops from Bastion worlds count 25% more, and each coalition-mate’s troops use their own species. If the planet is in debt, the total is halved.
Defending
Defence is automatic and free. When an attack lands on your planet, RHEA defends with every troop at home, plus your Bastion building’s flat 500 per level. You don’t need the app open. Troops that are away, or still in training, don’t defend. To make your planet a harder target:- Raise your Bastion building. Each level adds a flat 500 defence, even with nobody home, and it costs no upkeep.
- Keep a garrison of defenders. They bring 75 defence each, and every other troop at home adds its defence too.
- Collect often. Raids take from your tank first, and anyone can see what’s in it.
- Stay out of debt. A planet in debt defends at half strength.
Loot
When an attack wins, every surviving attacker carries loot: 40 dust for a raider, 45 for a heavy, 12 for a defender.- Loot comes from the defender’s tank first, then from their balance.
- Attacks that land together pool their carry, and split the loot by how much each carried.
- A lost attack takes nothing.
- Loot joins the attacker’s balance when their survivors land at home.
Combined attacks
Attacks that land on the same world at the same moment, in the same mode, fight as one battle. Up to 13 attacks can join.- Their attack power adds up.
- Each loses the same share of its own troops.
- The loot is split by how much each can carry.
Battle reports
Every battle you fight leaves a report in the War Room. Reports keep for thirty days. A report shows:- The title: the other world’s name, with “Engagement · Raid” or “Engagement · Assault”.
- Your force: Sent, Lost and Survivors, and a line about loot.
- What you faced: Their force and Their losses.
- A pill: “Held the field” or “Lost the field”.
Read reports with this in mind:
- “Held the field” doesn’t mean you won. For an attacker, it means some of your troops came home, even from a lost raid. For a defender, it means some of your troops are still standing, even if you were looted.
- Both sides are named in your own species’ names. If you’re Terra, an enemy raider shows as a Falcon, whatever its species. Read them as roles: raider, heavy, defender.
- On a defender’s report, the loot line is dust taken from you.
What’s public
In the app, a rival world shows only its name, its distance and its production level. Only a battle shows what it holds. On Solana, anyone can read:- that an attack exists, where it came from, its target, its mode and its timing;
- the attacking army, once it lands;
- the defending garrison, when RHEA declares it;
- loot, and the survivors flying home;
- every planet’s levels, tank and total upkeep.
